A community oral history project featuring a bilingual book and documentary film that preserve the stories of Spanish-speaking elders in Sacramento. Known as the Manitos, this group has been part of the community for nearly 30 years.
By supporting Bien Juntitos, you help build a lasting archive of Latino history that extends beyond Sacramento to reflect communities across California. The project uplifts voices often absent from dominant narratives—our immigrant elders—while connecting generations through bilingual storytelling.
Advancing Health Equity: Bien Juntitos strengthens key drivers of health—social connection, cultural identity, and belonging—by linking youth to their roots and language while offering elders validation and meaningful connection that counters today’s loneliness epidemic.
