Clean Air and Climate Director
Valley Vision is seeking a highly motivated individual to join us as the Director of our Clean Air and Climate impact area. This is a senior level position that works to elevate the organization’s role in advancing clean air and climate solutions for our region and ensures the successful implementation of impact area projects. In managing initiatives such as the Capital Region Climate Readiness Collaborative and Cleaner Air Partnership, as well as numerous individual projects, the Clean Air and Climate impact area leads coordinated, regional efforts to improve air quality, protect public health, and secure a healthy, stable environment for families and communities throughout the Sacramento region.
The desired candidate will have a passion for the environment, the greater Sacramento region, and the prosperity and well-being of all residents. The desired candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and generative environment. Individuals with experience leading climate change adaptation and resilience initiatives, as well as community engagement initiatives are encouraged to apply.
Valley Vision’s Clean Air and Climate Impact Area Director:
- Frames strategy and goals for the impact area.
- Oversees all projects, providing guidance and advice to staff, and supports project implementation.
- Ensures effective management of budgets and scopes, as well as contract compliance.
- Oversees management of the Capital Region Climate Readiness Collaborative and the Cleaner Air Partnership.
- Generates, pursues, and secures new projects and opportunities.
- Maintains, advances, and grows relationships with stakeholders in the clean air and climate space.
- Establishes recognition as a regional leader in the clean air and climate space.
- Represents Valley Vision in the community through presentations and participation in community activities.
- Supervises and mentors staff to foster successful project implementation, as well as professional growth.
To hold this position, you must…
- Be able and willing to regularly travel within the greater Sacramento region
- Be willing to expand and further develop fund development experience and expertise
- Be able to work some flexible hours (e.g. evenings and occasional weekends)
- This is a hybrid position, with some in-office work requirements. Valley Vision’s office is located at 3400 3rd Avenue, Sacramento.
- Have a car, valid driver’s license, and insurance
This is a full-time, exempt position that works in collaboration with the CEO, other members of the leadership team, Board of Directors, and staff to accomplish the goals of the impact area and organization.
Benefits & Compensation:
- Salary range is $100,000 - $140,000 per year
